About me

Fiona Anting Tan is a PhD student at the Institute of Data Science, National University of Singapore and a recipient of the President’s Graduate Fellowship (PGF) Scholarship. Her research interests span across natural language processing and causal inference, with a focus on extracting causal relationships from text to enrich existing knowledge. She has had multiple research internships and attachments with companies like Amazon, American Express, Panasonic and Changi Airport Group. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a Data Science Analyst in the retail industry at a multinational company, spearheading data science projects related to automation and analytics, which included an overseas secondment to the Shanghai office. She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with first-class honours for BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics as a Singapore-Industry Scholarship holder.
